In chrome and android based cell phone, the homepage is not displayed like it does in firefox. It loads the homepage inside the news frame page.

This is how it looks in my mac os x. It also looks the same on my xp machine with chrome and my android phone (htc hero). I do have the latest up to date version of chrome.

Try removing the trailing ?/ from your URL ;)
With your URL I'm getting the same result as shown on your screenshot, even in Firefox or Opera!

Thanks that solved the problem... I think it has to do with the browser on how it handles index.html... I usually type doom9.net and it takes me to www.....?/.

okay this is what happens: When i go to doom9.net, it takes me to http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/. But if i typed doom9.org then it takes me to this address: http://www.doom9.org/

I have had so many bizarre problems with Chrome and Doom9 that I've completely ditched Chrome in favor of Firefox. Tried real hard to get Chrome to work i.e. on 4 or 5 different home PCs and a couple different users. Not worth it the effort anymore IMO...

Weird. That looks to be some sort of coding error on the site. I saw the same thing today, came to the site first in Chrome.
Chrome sometimes picks up on those, while FF3 doesn't. Run into that more than once.
Chrome load some web apps faster, plus it has tab process isolation. I use it just as much as FF now. I even use IE8 now, sometimes.
Want to have more fun? Try Avant (IE renderer), Flock (FF clone), Safari, Konqueror (via KDE Win), Opera or K-Meleon.
