Hello, I have a bit of experience in audio and video de/encoding and I know this isn't really a DVD ripping question but I am hoping somebody can help me.

I have a few MKV files and each contains 3 different audio types, what I want to do is convert them to mp4 and I have been using GOTsent and it works great but the problem is I have about 200 files that need to be converted and when selecting a folder to convert with GOTsent it doesn't allow you to select the track you want to use and uses the default audio track which in this case is track 1. I want to use track 2.

So my question is how can I change the default audio track of a massive amount of MKV files? Or is there an easier way to do this or perhaps I am missing something in GOTsent. Thanks a lot.

MKVToolnix (http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/) contains a header editor which can be called via the command line ("mkvpropedit.exe"). I guess it should be able to change the default flag of a large number of files fast using a batch file. Haven't tested it myself, though.

OK, I just read up a little about this "GOTsent" and it seems to be relying on Haali's Media Splitter. If your audio tracks are tagged with different languages (e.g. Track 1: English, Track 2: German, Track 3: Japanese ....) you could set the splitter to use the German track as default. Go to start > programs > Haali's Media Splitter > Haali's Media Splitter settings > Languages > Audio language priority and set it to "ger" for example. This way you wouldn't have to edit all your files.
