View Full Version : BD Ripper That Has Chapter Selection / Splitting?

Does anyone know of a program or a process using multiple programs that will allow me to either rip only certain chapters from a Blu-Ray or that will automatically split into separate files for each chapter. I know chapter information is not stored in the m2ts file.
DVDFab6 doesn't allow you to select chapters or even start end times.
Pavtub/Moyea Blu-Ray Ripper is suppose to have the feature but it doesn't work on my Vista (64-bit) for some reason. Not sure if the current release is just broken or it has something to do with my PC. The interface looks pixelated, not sharp/smooth and when the View Log window pops-up there is no way to close it. It's like the interfact isn't working right. Bizarre.
HDConcertRipper correctly shows all the chapters within the main movie file. It is just a gui for eac3to though and only rips the audio track.
Fount a program over at Doom9 called bdsplice but it appears it takes separate chapters and splices them into one file, not separate chapter files.
Help!

It doesn't appear to read Blu-Ray discs.

I don't see any mention of Blu-Ray discs, only DVD. They are completely different formats.

Per my original post, that pavtub program doesn't work, at least not on my Vista 64-bit machine. Anyone can confirm if it is a Vista thing or the program is just plain broke? The 'View Log' window comes up and there's no way to close it.

I mean the program itself doesn't work, not that it doesn't work ripping chapters. If I can get the program to work in the first place without freezing up at the View Log windows, then I'm sure it will do what I want. Try downloading it and using it yourself.

No I dont have blu-ray dvds. I am just trying to be helpful. I am sure there will be other programs out there that will do what your trying to do, its just a question of finding them.

Let's stop with these JunkTube recommendations, please. PavTube is yet another ffmpeg ripoff and doesn't deserve any link traffic from this forum.

DVDFab 7 allows user to copy a chapter range of a playlist.

Yes, and libbluray, libaacs, libbdplus, as well as a TON of cryptographic libraries.
To add insult to injury, they are keeping the processing keys to themselves so proper open source projects are stuck at MKB v10 from two years ago and they claim to support v20.

...so does DVDFab - I see nobody complaining about that.

...so does DVDFab (and others) - while I wouldn't blame them for it. Why would they spread that information just to put themselves at a disadvantage?

Hi Fahzuu, how can you say something for sure when you don't know that?
Actually DVDFab doesn't use any open source decryption engines like libblury, libaacs, libbdplus and so on.
We have our own AACS and BD+ engine so that we can support latest protections, like AACS MKBv21 and BD+ gen9.

Should have been clearer about what I was referring to: DVDFab directly links livavcodec et. al. violating GPL and doesn't even mention this.

libavcodec is not decryption engine, I thought you know that.
