when a movie is spread across multiple small m2ts files will bdrb recognise these as extras by mistake when quicker encode for extras is checked?

when a movie is spread across multiple small m2ts files will bdrb recognise these as extras by mistake when quicker encode for extras is checked? No. BD-RB reads the M2TS files and knows when multiple smaller components are a part of the main feature.

But... BD-RB assumes there is only one main feature, so "Quick Encode for Extras" shouldn't be selected for series discs.

Why not determine "extra" status based on the relative length of a video, i.e. the TSs that are much shorter than the longest TS on a disk are extras?

This should fix series disks.

Hmmm.... that might be a good idea.

I don't think it would be reliable because the largest extra can be bigger than the smallest segment of the main feature (e.g. Gladiator IIRC)

Ah, total video length based on mpls. I agree.

thanks, i wasnt sure as there is no indication of what is part of the main movie and what isnt, some Disney br's here in europe contain hundreds of m2ts files covering foreign title video segment along with games in half a dozon languages intermixed with the english segments. My next question is can bdrb detect the main movie from the extras then would it be possible to resize them to 720p while keeping the main movie and intro 1080p?

Probably at some point in the future, but not right now. You'll also find that on a lot of discs the extras are alread 720x480/576. Some authors like to use the same extras on DVD and Blu-ray.

some of the main movie files have been over compressed, the parts were there have rendered foreign language video segments have been endoded @ extras bitrate :( What if just copy over the original m2ts file to replace the over compressed ones,l would the structure still be intact or would the file size create issues? there is just enough space left to do this :)

edit - crap that didnt work, what if i remux the original video segment into a mkv container and replace it with the compressed 1 and rebuild?

I've tested it thouroughly and it has always done the main-move correctly... please provide more information. Specifically what disc and MPLS files are you you referring to? Do you have a log and an INF file that shows the issue?

are the segments that have been compressed to much.

i have now demuxed the original segments and placed them im mkv files and put these in the workfiles folder, replacing the compressed ones, how can i rebuild the disk again as there is no option to rebuild again.

anyway to rebuild again with re-encoding again?

Do you mean "without"? If you want to rebuild without reencoding (on a full disc backup) just hit "Backup" and say "yes" to resume. If you want to reencode, say "no" to resume.

it says the working folder is not empty. Didnt want to click yes incase it started from scratch.

it says the working folder is not empty. Didnt want to click yes incase it started from scratch. That means you have changed one of the critical settings. Set everything back to what it was when you did the original encode, and it will rebuild.

dont know whats diffrent, even when i save a project with specific audio tracks selected these get ignored upon loading up the project again. noticed all reencoded m2ts files get deleted after the rebuild so thats screwed my plans up anyway :(
