Hey guys. I was woundering if you guys could recommend me some good filters for an anime bakup im currently doing.
Im currently re-encoding my BD anime into 720p to keep them on my HD.
The thing is the anime looks great but it doesn't look very sharp. I was wondering which filters you guys would recomment for sharpening the vdieo and making the colors more vibrant. I looked and there's just too many to chose from and there's no previews of the filter.
I was also wondering which resize method is better. Im currently using spline36. I was wondering if Lanczos would be better.
Hope to hear your inputs.

i'm quite inexperienced but i usually use the following:
LSFmod for sharpening: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=142706
You could also try msharpen: http://neuron2.net/msharpen/msharpen.html
more vibrant colors, i'm guessing tweaking the saturation might help, try tweak(sat=1.1) (http://avisynth.org/mediawiki/Tweak)
You can see some previews of filters here: http://www.aquilinestudios.org/avsfilters/sharpeners.html

If you want better help, post a sample. Unprocessed sample.

ok. i'll upload a sample. its in bluray so the filesize will be around 140MB.
i tried out the LFSmod but im not seeing any result on the output video.
i dont know that the problem is. i think anytime i put in a value for any script. it wont work.
for example. i tried out LimitedSharpenFaster(strength=200)
it doesn't do anything. i then tried out LimitedSharpenFaster()
that actually sharpen the video. LSFmod(defaults="slow") doesnt do anything when i add it. it only makes the video encoding time take longer.

@mswaino2
Don't thread hijack. Your sample has dot crawl and is HT (hard telecined) Animeivtc(mode=1, aa=0) for starters. Figure out the rest so that you can learn.

It'd be easier if you could upload to Megaupload, but sendspace is acceptable.

Honestly, I don't know what you're expecting. Your source is very clean and pristine. Just do a simple resize and maybe just a little bit of sharpening, but not much.
SharpAAMCMod() #little bit of line thinning helps
LimitedSharpenFaster(ss_x=1.7, ss_y=1.7, smode=3, strength=165, overshoot=1, undershoot=1) #don't need that much sharpening
Tweak(sat=1.2) #you really don't need that much color, but if you want it, use it.
Spline36resize(1280,720)
On the contrary, it is sharp. You can only get so "sharp" a picture in anime to the eye.
