View Full Version : I have only VIDEO_TS from old backups...

Please help.

I used to rip old DVD for backup by only saving VIDEO_TS.
At least that VIDEO_TS is unencrypted because I used to use anydvd back then.

I want to rebuild a proper DVD from this.
The additional problem is that I have Nero 9 installed (not an older version) and Windows 7 (I can use a WHS too if needed - as it's just a Windows Server 2003).
I think DVDShrink or ImgTool do no work with this "mix".

Can someone give me a (preferably) simple solution?
Either a working freeware tool or how to do it from Nero 9? (if it can do such thing)

I prefer not to recode the mpegs and loose quality and there shouldn't be a reason to do that anyway.

Thanks in advance.

IMGBurn will work fine. If you only used AnyDVD and just dumped the decrypted content of the discs, then you don't need to do anything else other than burn and follow IMGBurn's (very thorough) prompts and tooltips.

in fact... back to you (or anybody that could help)

how can imgburn be used for my purpose?
I tried adding VIDEO_TS folder, but I didn't see anything that would allow me to make a proper DVD from that folder

can someone give some more detailed help or point me to the proper guide?

thanks again

Can you not just create a new backup from your original disks?

Open Nero Burning Rom and select DVD-Video. In the compilation window you'll see that nero already added "VIDEO_TS" and "AUDIO_TS" folders. Delete both folders and drop&drop your backupped VIDEO_TS in the compilation window.

Burn the DVD.

Finished!

EDIT: If you want a fully working DVD but as a iso file, select in nero the Virtual Burner and burn the compilation. Nero asks you where to save that file.
