View Full Version : Want to extract snippet of video

I recorded a HD digital broadcast with a TV tuner card using SageTV, and I just want to extract a 10-min section from it, without any postprocessing or compression. So just a straight cut.

The only software I have tried is Adobe Premiere on a friend's system. Unfortunately, if I load the video file into Premiere, it gives an incorrect frame rate, and the audio is out of sync with the video for some reason. I loaded a different video file (recorded from SageTV), and it synced fine.

I ran this video file on VideoInspector, it shows it as:

Resolution: 1920x1080 (16/9)
FPS: 29.970
BitRate: 63477 Kbps
Quality Factor: 1.05 b/px
Codec: MPEG 2

Is there a different software I can use to do what I need it to do?

Thanks,
- Eli

It's a TS container, I assume? Try cutting it with TSMuxerGUI.

I'm not sure what the container is, it is an mpg file extension. I will give TSMuxer a try, though.

@eli2k

DGSplit is a GUI binary file splitter that works on arbitrarily large files. (http://neuron2.net/dgsplit/dgsplit11.zip)
