Hello fellows.

Let's say I have a H.264 video track in 23.97fps (from NTSC source) and I want to add an audio track from an European source which is 25fps. Is any encoding needed? Can the process be lossless or does it need to be lossy?

I would like to match both at 25fps in case I watch the movie in an old PAL TV. If it isn't possible at all, feel sorry about my grandparents :D

Audio has no frames, so an audiofile can't be 25fps. The smallest unit in audio is a sample. Audio is normaly sampled with 44,1kHz or 48kHz. You have to match the lenghts of the audio to your video. Let's say your 23,97fps video is 1h and your audio is 57 min. Then you have to speedup your audio. This can be done with avisynth's audio filters (see manual)

Thanks hanfrunz. I was referring to a 23,76fps video track with an audio track which came with a 25fps video track. You were right, sorry for the error.

But in the process the audio is altered right? It's a sort of reencoding (I'd like to leave it lossless) and although the speed increase is marginal, the voices may sound a bit louder right? Or defenitely not as in the original BD.

You should be able to use VirtualDubMod and framerate-match the video to the audio length. That would be lossless to the video.
