Hello, i am a newbie and i really need to understand why i am having trouble writing successfully to dvd9 using the blu ray structure created from TSremuxer and build with IMG burn. I've had no trouble burning to a regular dvd-r and playing it successfully on my samsung blu ray player. But when i try to do the same process on a dual layer disc , it does a complete burn, but when i put the disc in the blu ray player, its says "this disc cannot be read". I can play the iso file just fine on my laptop with no problems.

Why is this happening when i have no trouble with a dvd -r???

Also, the HDBDsplitGUI i use never splits my M2TS file into 2 or 3 partitions, only 1 is created no matter how big my file is.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe that your Samsung eats BD-5, but won't eat BD-9...

You are correct. My samsung will not recognize the bd structure on my DVD + R DL discs. I tried to play the same disc on a sony blu ray player, and it played perfectly with no problems. I guess that is what i get for buying a samsung.

Any suggestions on how (or if i am able ) to change the booktyping for either my pioneer or opticarc dvd burners so my samsung can read the DVD9?? I did not see the pioneer as one of the booktyping options in IMGBurn, neither for Opticarc also.

Hi!

I believe you'll find that your Pioneer AUTOMATICALLY changes the booktype of D/L DVD+Rs...

Yes, but unfortunately, my Samsung will not read it. Is there anyway to change the booktype for a optiarc burner??

I like to record american football in HD which is usually around 16gigs after commercials are edited. The dvd - r i burn in HD are really good quality, but for a football game, it requires 4 dvd5 discs to have the complete game in MPEG-2 HD format. If my samsung could read my dvd9, i could do a game with 2 discs or just buy a Sony blu ray player to solve the problem (which is not an option right now).

just buy a Sony blu ray player to solve the problem (which is not an option right now). That's ultimately your solution - and I'd suggest you seek out the somewhat older SONY model BDP_S360, which appears to play virtually all BluRay constructs (See the related threads in the BD-RB and BluRay-related sub-forums here)...
