I have funny feeling Jdobbs will need to work out his application again. Since it will use different codec.

they could literally submit a new thing daily to put into the standard. it needs new hdtv? (not to mention HUGE tv because 3d on tiny screens should be nice, in a crap sort of way) D.O.A. dead fad. not to mention that goofy glasses are not a comfortable idea for most people sitting at home. It will stay in the theaters, or maybe in the homes of the sort of people who were into laserdisc back in the day.

Do I need a new TV? I've got a Samsung LE52M86BD. I thought 3D is only another kind of image which looks crappy without special glasses and nice with those glasses. Why do displays have to fulfill special requirements for this and what exactly are those requirements?

The only thing I was aware of is the necessity for an extended capability of Blu-ray players that can cope with the upcoming MVC codec extension of AVC.
