View Full Version : tsmuxer, tsremuxer or eac3to to 1:1 demux a FullBluray?

Hello to all the community.

I'm trying to demux the video and audio tracks from a Full Bluray dump and I have several questions.

1) If during the dump, done with anyDVD-HD, neither the Region Code (RC) or Prohibited User Operations (PUOs) were removed, can they be removed now with, say, Blu-ray Region Code Remover 2.5? And how can the RC be checked once the BD has been dumped to the HDD, BDInfo?

2) Which tool to use to 1:1 demux untouched video and audio tracks from untouched Full Bluray (m2ts)? I've read tsMuxeR has issues with TrueHD, tsRemuxeR with DTS-HD... is eac3to (or any of its GUIs) a good option for 1:1 demux (no encoding or recompression)?

3) Do I need to have installed any codecs in the PC beforehand to demuxing?

4) If I intend to remux the Bluray into a mkv container with MKVmerge, do I have to demux the video in mkv format prior to remuxing, or as an untouched m2ts and then configure MKVmerge to create the mkv?

That was all :P. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Sorry for breaking rule 12 :(

1) To my knowledge, if you are going to demux the video/audio/subtitles, it doesn't really matter if you didn't remove RC or PUOs when the BD files were copied to the HD.

2) eac3to.exe can easily demux all tracks on a title basis, and has no known issues with the different audio and video formats.

3) No codecs required for demux unless you use eac3to.exe's options to reencode audio during the demux operation. Even then, eac3to.exe contains all required codecs for most transcodes.

4) If you demux into MKV container, the container will hold frame rate and other video parameters for you, making subsequent muxing easier. If you demux into raw video stream, you may have to tell your muxer (MKVmerge) some of these parameters manually.
