- Extracting STILLS for VTS_01 segment 21 It wouldn't be HC -- as the extracting is being done by DVD-RB. Sounds like it could be copy protection... what did you use to rip it?

AnyDVD, the slysoft forum says that Anydvd has no problems with this dvd. People have ripped it successfully with Anydvd/Clonedvd. I'll try ripping it straight to he HD and processing from there instead of one-click if I can't figure this out. Wonder if it is a defective disc hung up at the layer break or something.

Several hrs. it was at 11+ hrs. at 49.6%. Usually takes 8 hrs. to process a dvd.

Sorry, I was thinking of BDRebuilder when I said it usually takes 8 hrs. to process. DVDRebuilder usually takes only 1-2 hrs. with my new i7 quad. So, the 11 hrs. is a huge difference. Since then, I have managed to successfully process Public Enemy DVD, but it took approx. 24 hrs. to finish, and only 5 processors seemed to be engaged when usually all 8 run in past jobs.

I am now having this problem a second time with a different disc, Stalingrad, full disc documentary. This time it says the overall progress is 1.1%. I shut it down after 9 hrs. and reinstalled DVDRB, but it is stopping at the same place. All 8 processors are up and running. I'm stumped, I did not have this problem before and have had many successful encodes.

Jdobbs: Please respond if you are reading this. I want to know if you have any ideas. Thanks.
Well I tried ripping it to straight to the HD with AnyDVD Ripper and processing the files from the HD and it worked. The process took no more than an hour after ripping. So, it would seem that the problem is somewhere between the disc, when it starts the second pass, and DVDRB/HC. This is 2 different dvds in a row that I can no longer run from the disc. Do you have any idea what the problem might be?

I'm not sure what I could do from my end.

Never had a problem before and it seems to screw up when it starts the second pass. That's why I figured it was DVDRB or HC. AnyDVD just rips the protection and it does seem to be doing that. Thanks for responding.
