hi guys

i have a hdtv tuner card i use for recording some tv shows
i use the recordings on my laptop on work

nomaly i convertet them to .mkv
så i can cut out comercials and save space with the mkv

but now the audio file (ac3) comes in 5.1 in the show and 2.0 ch in comercials

my encoding tool (staxrip) uses vdub to cut the .ac3 file
but i cant handel the changes in it

do you guys know any way to cane the ac3 file to 5.1 without to transcode it?

or a tool that can cut dirextly in the ac3 file before i mux it with the .mkv?

Marry xmas 2 u all

You can use DGIndex to cut your (guessing) MPG file containing MPEG-2 video and AC3 audio. Simply select the regions you're not interested in, and delete them :)

MPEG2Cut2 should also work. There are others as well, of course.

DGAVCIndex should handle this just fine, then.

Thx for your fast answer
i demux it with dgavcindex and get .ac3 file and .264 file
i 4 parts when useing dgavcindex

anyway to join these files together in one...before reencode så sync not lost?
