*MOV's QTP Won't Play on WinXP

Hi guys. I'm trying to work with a QuickTime .mov files from a camcorder on Windows XP.
AE/PR CS4 won't import 'em. They are encoded to MPGV,
according to the VLC player, which, BTW, ironically, plays those files just fine, while their native application, QuickTime Player shows no picture.
Any ides or suggestion?

If you can open them up with ffmpegsource2 in avisynth, you can use the premiere avs import plugin

You might be able to re-wrap them into mpeg-ps (.mpg) with ffmpeg , depending on what the audio format is
