View Full Version : How to Extract Mono Track from Multilingual AAC Decoded data

HI All,
I am working on AAC-Audio decoding interface.
We have few clips with multilingual - Japanese and English.
From the decoded output, how to extract individual language information? - i.e., to play only english, or only japanese or both simultaneously.. (Decoder supports decoding of CCE elements)
Thanks in advance,
Medha

Please put a MediaInfo report of the original clip and a list of the decoded output.

The input data is AAC (Mpeg2-TS) and the decoded output is in PCM format.
Num Chnls - 1
Sampling Freq - 48000
SBR Flag - ON (Enabled)
SBR Up Factor - 2
There is some problem in attaching the document, hence pasting the decoded output below..

If you have only a channel with both languages mixed you can't extract nothing. Sorry.

HI,
Thanks for the reply.
Actually the input AAC data contains both the languages data. Do we need to set any flag to indicate the decoder that the input data has two languages and decode only one language or something like that? If so, please let me know what kind of settings/configuration required to set the decoder.
I am pasting the AAC Input data for your reference.

Use some free filehosting services like http://mediafire.com for storage of your attachments, sample clips etc. It is strongly recommended to not attach anything larger (>1 KB) on this forum directly.

Please put a MediaInfo report of the original aac/m2ts file.
I don't need a hex dump of the data.

HI,
The input data is of Mpeg2- AAC type - Used in ISDB-T OneSeg streams
Num Channels: 2
Sampling Freq: 48000
Can you please tell me what do you mean by Media Info Report exactly?
Thanks and Regards,
Medha

MediaInfo is a tool (search in Gogle) to know what kind of header/container have the AAC stream.
If you can decode the stream in PCM data in WAV container you can after separate the two channels with WaveWizard for instance.

Perfect. Now we know is a .aac file, with ADTS headers, LC+SBR+PS, 48.0 KHz, 2 channels, 3mn 28s long.
But seems there are a problem with your decoded file:
Is 7s 235ms only?
And 24.0 KHz only, seems don't recognize the SBR part in aac.
What is your decoder?
Try with FAAD2v2.7 (http://www.rarewares.org/aac-decoders.php) or Foobar2000

HI,
I got the problem.
Actually the decode data is interleaved at Sample level and each sample is of 16bits.
I extracted alternate samples from the output data and the sampling frequency is also divided by 2 (24k/2 = 12k). Then it started playing the individual language data.
The decoder i am using is - HE-AAC decoder. There is some other problems in the decoding, due to which the output file is of very less duration.
Thank you very much for your help.
Best Regards,
Medha
