No matter how I set the Dynamic Compression and Normalization the
output audio is always too low. Setting normalization to very hi levels produces noticeable sound distortion.
Anybody found a workaround for this ?
Thanks !

I think you can do something about this, but not with Xmpeg. I hope the next version will solve some of this. for now, you may have to live with it, but I think nandub can do some of this. I really haven't used nandub, so I couldn't say for sure.

i'm having the same problem with the audio in xmpeg, i've decided to use BeSweet and/or AzidLame but I am now having problems getting the audio video synch correct. For some reason the length of the audio and the video files is different. anyone have any ideas.... audio sounds great though

I found a way around the volume issue. Encode movie as you normally would, then Open VirtualDub. File--Open your avi. Video -- Direct Stream, Audio --Fast Recompress then under Audio--Volume there is a slider. I adjusted my volume to 300% seems to be loud enough but haven't watched the movie yet.
