I compiled a dvd using dvdauthor.
I checked the result in several dvd -- on windows 7 and another dvd box it work perfectly. Yet, on windows xp the image doesn't load, nor in another dvd box it doesn't load.
How can I debug the process,. and what can be the problem that it doesn't load in the dvd box I checked?

Could you explain once again what you did and what didn't work, using the right terminology, eg DVD is a disk, DVD player is a player that can be hardware (standalone) or software (like WinDVD, PowerDVD, vlc etc.)... I don't understand too much from your post

Here is what I did.
* Compiled a dvd disk using dvdauthor
* Playing the disk in a software like vlc, or media player worked.
* Playing the disk in a dvd hardware (connected to a tv set) worked.
* Playing the disk in a dvd standalone hardware (pioneer avh-p6850dvd - a dvd multimedia car entertainment system) didn't work

A car multimedia has usually a weaker drive inside (it's the equivalent of a laptop device). It may be the DVDR that was burned probably at 16x and thus may have higher PI/PO and [important!!!!] jitter. Standalones have a better drive (I mean especially those not having a PC drive inside but a real video ass'y).
Try a real name DVDR (like Verbatim MIJ or MIT) and 4x. Then come back with news.
You must also explain what does "don't work" mean. Error messages, not recognized, playback with errors).

I made a new dvd using verbetin and x4 speed.
When inserting that into the system, it raised a machine error-02-9c. I looked this error on the web and found that it is a playback software error.
Now the question is whether the authoring was made faulty, or is it the speed (or media) blame.

Have you successfully played any DVDR in the car DVD player?
