When I was encoding scary movie I noticed it was upside down when I viewed it so I flipped it vertically in the next encoding which solved the problem. Until I sent a clip of it to a friend and it was upside down for him :(

I also forgot to save the changed settings so whenever I try it in nandub it just comes out crap...is there a way of just flipping what I have already? since the filters wont work in a direct stream copy its doing my head in:angry:

Upside movies for me, were caused by codec packs with the G400 & Morgan Stream Switcher installed. If you have them installed delete them!!!

Hmmm... I'm not so sure NeVeRLiFt... I have an ATI AWI 128 16mb w/ MMC 7.5 rip just like you do (abeit you have a Radeon). We both know that ATI make crappy drivers ;) but I have never known for video card drivers to flip AVIs upside down just in a software video player.

i think its a problem with the "searching for codec" feature of WMP
if you try to run a divx before installing the codec, this error appears
i fixed it by installing the DivX4.12 and saying to run all DivX3 files

I read in another post on this forum somewhere that it was the drivers? Or the DirectShow filter? And I dont let DivX4.xx play my movies. If anyone knows the real cause speak up cause I have been seeing more and more posts on this. Also at rage3d's forums I see this alot..... so I really think its a driver issue?
I maybe wrong though!

Nah... I'm pretty sure it's these DirectShow filters that are being packed with codec packs.
