Hello. I hope this is not a repeat post.

I have downloaded the LimitedSharpenFaster avs and have used the "load" function in the ffdshow avisynth window.

A lengthly script with the following text appears

# LimitedSharpen() ( a modded version, 29 Oct 2005 )
#
# A multi-purpose sharpener by Didée
#
#
# Changes in this mod:
#
# - RemoveGrain >= v0.9 IS REQUIRED!!
# ==================================
#
# - Smode=4 / sometimes does the magic ;-)
# - a separate "undershoot" parameter, to allow for some line darkening in comic or Anime
# - Lmode=3 / on edges, limited sharpening with zero OS & US. On not-edges, limited sharpening with specified OS + LS
# - "soft" acts different now: no more boolean true/false, but instead integer 0 - 100 (or -1 -> automatic)
# instead of blurring before finding minima/maxima, it now softens the "effect-of-sharpening"
# - edgemode=-1 now shows the edgemask. (scaling still not implemented :p )
#
## - MODIFIED version using MaskTools 2.0

I then ticked the avisynth box in ffdshow.

I have installed warpsharp.dll, masktools-v2.0a30 and RemoveGrain.dll. I did not use the removegrainn ss2 or 3 version.

Is this correct? There is a brief pause in playback as the plugin is activated but very little visible change so I am having trouble telling if the filter is working or not.

Thanks for any help.

Did you add a call to the function?
What you showed above is just the declaration. You need to add the line

LimitedSharpenFaster()

at the end to actually call the function.

Thanks. I added this line and got the following message on the video

Removegrain: invalid mode 19

Did I use the wrong dll or something?

Have you followed this instruction in the code:
# - RemoveGrain >= v0.9 IS REQUIRED!!
# ==================================

Links to v0.9 and 1.0 at http://avisynth.org/mediawiki/Removegrain

Thank you. I was using version .9 Once I upgraded it worked fine.

Thank you for your help.

That's odd. It's supposed to work on v0.9 or later.
I was assuming you had an earlier version.
