View Full Version : MPC-HC screen saver starts in middle of playback

I downloaded the latest K-lite codec last week (K-Lite_Codec_Pack_540_Full.exe), which contains the latest version of Media Player Classic Home Cinema (1.3.1330.0).

To my horror, my screen saver now kicks in during the middle of playback! This is uber annoying.

No software has changed on my system (win xp pro sp3 with all the latest updates as of today) recently except for that k-lite update, so I assume that something there caused this phenomena.

I filed a bug report with MPCHC on sourceforge, and they responded by making it private. At least, that is what the error page says when I try to load the URL:
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2894984&group_id=170561&atid=854651

Has anyone else seen this? Know of a workaround? Or do I need to go back to an older version of MPCHC? (And please tell me what version I should downgrade to if you know.)

Thanks in advance.

U should try using the latest revision 1.3.1347.0, U can find the main download site in the main "Media Player Classic Home Cinema - DXVA!" thread. Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion, it is exactly what I was hoping for, but where exactly is the best URL to download MPCHC from?

From that thread that you cited, I see on its first posting the project's sourceforge page. Going there and clicking on the download link takes me here:
http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/download-media-player-classic-hc.html
Then clicking in the latest windows installer yields a download of a really old version, MPC-HomeCinema.1.3.1249.0.(x86).exe.

Alternatively, the download link page has a link named "Click here for the Download Page at SourceForge.net", which brings me to this URL:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mpc-hc/files/
Here too, 1.3.1249.0 is the latest.

Then how the heck did k-lite codec get a 1.3.1330 version? And where is the even later build than you cite?
