I'm getting a run time error 6 overflow while trying to back-up Star Trek. I searched but didn't find any answers. Any ideas? Anyone else with this problem?

A few more details would be nice.
To start, DVD Rebuilder or BD-Rebuilder ?
Movie only or full back up?

Sorry, DVD Rebuilder, movie only.

Hi!

Perhaps your rip of the DVD is problematic.

What software and procedures did you use to rip your original, commercial DVD?

It's not the software, I use AnyDVD and with CloneDVD2 I sucessfully ripped and burned the DVD. I wanted to use DVDRebuilder because I believe the quality usually comes out better. I'll try it one more time to see if I can get a log out of it. But, it goes thru the first step successfully (I believe the rip), but when it starts the next step I immediately get the error message. I'll try to be more specific with the next try.

I can't get a log file because as soon as I click the error, everything disappears, but here is a screenshot.

Although I'm not a user of "DVD-RB" (I am a user of "BD-RB"), I'd ask if you know the significance of the Program Status statement that, Embedded null records found

At least to me, it sounds like some of the original copy protection is still in place...

If your "F" drive is the DVD drive, you might try ripping the disc to a file on your hard drive and try it again.

Jdobbs: I know you're probably very busy, but any suggestions? Is there a way to get more info to you?

I was able to get DVD-RB to process it by ripping it to the HD with AnyDVD Ripper and then processing it from the HD. Works fine. I can't one-click from the original DVD. I don't know where the issue is. I'm still curious, so if anyone has any ideas, like Ross Perot said "I'm all ears.":p

What's wrong with ripping it to the hard drive? It's faster, better for your dvd drive, and it works? :p

Didn't say there was anything wrong with it. When I do it from the disc it rips to the HD first anyway. Just trying to figure why it didn't work this time and what the runtime error 6 was all about. It usually runs fine and it didn't this time. Wouldn't you try to figure out the problem?

I believe that as one of the few acknowledgments of AnyDVD being "less than perfect", your friends at SlySoft strongly suggest that (at least with the type of copy protection that has appeared on "Transformers 2", "G.I. Joe", and "Star Trek (2009)"), you should rip to your hard drive first, rather than "on-the-fly"...

Could be, but I keep up on their forum and no one else was reporting this problem, and as I said, I had no problem with AnyDVD/CloneDVD2 so I assume the problem is with RB/HC. Nothing is perfect, but AnyDVD is damn near perfect, nobody updates more.

Sorry, I overlooked the fact that you were also using CloneDVD2...
