HELP:mkvmerge error

Hi all, this is my first time using mkvmerge, I have just tried to create an .mkv from a demuxed .ts file but I keep getting an error "Error: memory.cpp/safemalloc() called from file src/common/mpeg4_p10.cpp, line 590: malloc() returned NULL for a size of 64859 bytes" can anyone please tell me how to resolve this error ? or post a link to a basic tutorial on how to achieve this conversion in the correct way?
