Mpc-HC FFdshow audio decoder

I reckon this will be an easy one I will be missing something obvious. Currently in MPC HC when a file containing and Mp3 audio stream opens ffdshow opens and applies all of my set equalizer options etc.
My question is my files encoded with nero aac do not open in ffdshow. How can I set this up to work?

Ffdshow does have aac support enabled.

In MPC-HC goto Options-> Internal Filters and deactivate the built in aac decoder.
