I just installed Windows Vista 64 bit on my computer. This is not really a problem, but Vista wouldn't recognize mkv files as "Matroska File". Basically they don't recognize the container's extension. I would like to have it recognized. I've installed the latest ffdshow, Haali media splitter, and matroska pack. What can I do?
Thanks.

Google around for the registry merge files (.reg) that various people have made up for exactly this purpose.

But I've got it without doing that on my previous state and in XP.

...because something wrote those registry entries, which govern how filetypes are perceived and labeled by your OS. Rather than waste time figuring out what wrote them, just do it automatically and immediately with the merge files.

Couldn't find them on Google.
What keywords should I use?

Nope, it didn't work. mkv files are still listed as "mkv file" under type.
