WMP 12 for Windows 7 only?

I thought that WMP 12 was going to be for Vista as well, and that it would be released after 7's release date. This has already happened, and there is no WMP12 available on Microsoft's site.

I then read on Wikipedia that WMP12 is for Windows 7 only. Is this correct? I was hoping for its release on Vista so I could fix my broken WMP11.

That's correct. I believe the Official Line is "There are no plans of that nature".
