Option 2 would not convince me, because the image rendered still too dirty

solution 3 is clean, but too smooth

what about put overlay of neatvideo over MC_Spuds (similar to layers opacity in photoshop).
This means mix both together lets say
40%spuds-60%neat.
You can use overlay or i think neat video could have a possibility to remove only some percentage of noise.

I think the spud+neatvideo looks pretty good on its own, but could use a little sharpening after that, but I'm not a videophile either... so take that with a grain of salt I suppose.

Dunno if byme has noticed it, but MC_Spuds has a good bunch of parameters to influence the result. It might be a good idea to actually make use of those parameters.

It's like driving a car ... in order to drive at appropriate speed, you need to change gears and adjust gas pedal position.

Just sitting in and shouting "drive!" will not suffice.

I increased the cleaning with the Neat Video... and added LSFmod (before Neat Video)

the GradFunkMirror solves some problems of dirt (to be more precise ... squares of color)

Hihi, splendid. Surely it does. Problem is that first LSF makes some careful changes. Then comes the NeatVideo bulldozer and makes everything flat again.
But the other way round wouldn't be much better ... if NeatVideo would first make everything flat, then nothing would be left over that LSF could rescue.

I would suggest getting rid of neat video. There's no reason to have 2 sharpening filters on the same video. I could not find a feasible way to remove all of the blocking without overly smoothing the video, like you did. So, I would either do the best you can without over-sharpening or get a better capture.
