DVB-T player recommendation

Hello all,
I've recently purchased a DVB-T USB stick and am still investigating the best way to use it.
At the moment I'm switching between VLC and Blaze HDTV Player.
I've tried using MPC-HC, but the "open device" menu does not list my device.
I've also tried using Splash Lite, which does identify the device, but would not perform channel scan (I've contacted mirillis and awaits their reply).
Any hints on using MPC-HC or general recommendations are welcomed.

Make sure you have the most up to date BDA drivers installed for your device.

I would recommend to use the free ProgDVB: http://progdvb.com/
It works great with my AverMedia Volar X A815 and the free CyberLink MPEG-2 decoder 8.4.0.923 using the GPU (DXVA) on my HD 3450. Choose the BDA device in the settings. I can even use the AverMedia remote control together with ProgDVB via HID device programming. :)

Brazil2, couldn't get DVB Dream to work, tried to configure it for quite some time with no luck.
peek, ProgDVB seems nice, but unfortunately the free standard version does not support the video format here in Israel (H.264).

I'm using the CyberLink H.264 decoder PDVD8 2.4.0.1426 with MPC-HC here and that also appears on the settings page of the free ProgDVB and should work, but unfortunately, I cannot test it with DVB-T because there's still no HDTV support in Germany yet, it's only available from satellites atm, but I don't have such a receiver. Of course, you could also try other H.264 decoders such as the external MHC-HC decoder or ArcSofts decoder for example.

Finally, you will have to copy and regsvr32 "MPCVideoDec.ax".

But maybe, you're right and HDTV is not supported in the free version although there are really settings for the H.264 decoder. It might not work?

Hi peek,
The problem does not relate to codecs.
It seems that the free version does not support H.264 broadcast by design, and will simply not play a channel with such properties.
Even removing the H.264/AVC from the channel properties will not help with this issue, it seems like a feature reserved for the paid version only.

That's bad luck, but you can still use it for MPEG-2 at least.

I guess I can, but considering Israel only have 5 channels, and all of them are in the H.264 format... ;-)

Hmm, I've 34 channels here, but none of them is HDTV. We should merge that and share it. ;)

Oh, I wish...
5 channels.
2 of them completely useless (as in nothing to see, ever).
0 of them in HD (H.264 SD).
