Troubles in encoding complex h264 video

Hi. I have some great problems in encoding h264 video with Main Concept Referense. The problem is the encoder thinks thats black lines in video - noise and it's trying to fix it. The result is terrible. I attached screen of result video.
P.S. I encoded video with h264/AVC, high profile, 5000 kbps.

Use Tinypic or Imageshack to host your images; attachments take ages to get approved.

Looks to me like the quantizer is absurdly high; odds are a failure in the VBV model or something of the sort. If you posted an actual source clip of the H.264 file instead of a screenshot, I could give more analysis.

There is an easy solution though: use x264 ;)

If I were you I would deinterlace your source in first place. Interlaced footage encoded as progresive will always kill quality.

Dark Shikari, big thx for x264. It's encoded my video very nice. But Vimeo reencode it again and i think it's use Adobe Flash Server and Main Concept codec. Result is not good, but fully watchable in HD. http://vimeo.com/7424549

Use YouTube. They support "HD" video now. And they use x264 :)

Yep, i planing to upload video to youtube this night. But vimeo has always better results for me.

Yeah you can tell that's reencoded there. And youtube's baseline sd reencoding is pretty poor but their hd is decent as long as the height is enough to flag hd. At least they've gotten better though.

Hi. I'm uploaded it's to youtube, quality is good, but playback is very glitchy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8LRW8O2mLA I encoded it's in meGUI with extra quality profile, 5.1 and 5000 bitrate. What's wrong?

Youtube doesn't accept 5.1 audio, it probably downmixed it incorrectly = glitchy audio

The framerate is off, mediainfo reported it at 15.103. Check your uploaded video to see if you encoded it correctly. If not, then youtube probably screwed it up

Hmm, on locale file mediaInfo says this: "FrameRate_Mode/String : Constant FrameRate/String : 25.000 fps". I think the problem in youtube. I encoded it's in megui, vimeo takes it's nice, but youtube changes the framerate. What's is the best profile for youtube in meGUI?

Give a try to vimeo. I believe they also have a page somewhere on the site where it says if you follow some specs they won't re-encode the content.

I have no idea why youtube messes with framerate, but they do sometimes. I've never seen anything that bad though. Also it wasn't able to decode dts last I checked, but I'm guessing you aren't using that. Honestly I don't know how to get youtube to not do any stupid things :P Having it tall enough to flag hd helps. But then again, you may already have that, I can't tell since it's already deleted.

I reupload it, but with same result i think. I didn't use hd flag because i didn't know what is it ). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZAfakq_Fyk . Maybe MeGui makes wrong video? )) Also, i used Yamb and internal MeGui muxer with same result.

Ew, that fps issue definitely worsens the experience. I would definitely place the blame here on youtube's reencoding. It's tall enough to be flagged as hd but youtube is still doing a poor job with it :(
