I have compiled a dvd using te dvdauthor,.
Yet there is an issue which I do not know yet how to solve.

The video dvd that I made is compiled of menus mainly and one title.
When playing it in the vlc player by dropping the VIDEO_TS or parent directory in it plays properly... yet when playing it with an iso that I made of it, it doesn't work fine...

Are there some guide lines in order to compile a video dvd iso?

More info, please...

You say, when playing it with an ISO "it doesn't work fine". What exactly doesn't work? Have you made a DVD from it and tried to play it on a standalone DVD player?

How did you use DVDAuthor? From the command line or did you use a GUI to pass parameters to DVDAuthor?

Cheers

* I didn't yet burn the ISO on a dvd to check it out.
* I used the dvdauthor from command line

I tried burning the image on a dvd,. and tested that on vlc player.
Again the problem consisted. I had to run the VIDEO_TS directory instead of running it by opening the dvd drive letter.

I didn't had a chance yet, to test the burned dvd, on a standalone dvd -- because I only got a dvd in the computer, not as a separate device.

I tried adding the command '<fpc>' in the beginning of the dvd, but that didn't help much.

Later today I'll ask a friend to test the image, on a separate dvd player.

Archiving footage in DVD format is not the best solution if you watch them entirely on a PC, there are better codecs.

You should always test a product in its environment: if it's a DVD then use a standalone DVD player - VLC and other software players as well just "emulate" a standalone.
