I am having a problem encoding an audio file from within both MeGUI and foobar2000. I get an error saying "could not open AAC encoder" from MeGUI and a similar error from foobar. I know the problem has nothing to do with either, and it must be coming from Windows 7 permissions/ownership/etc, but I am sadly lacking in knowledge in this area. I was hoping someone could help. Here is the log from MeGUI:

Well, I may have found the problem... I tried on another ac3 that was 6 channels instead of 5 and it worked fine... I also tried converting the original to wav, then encoding, but that still failed. Anyway, I'll go figure out how to add the .1 channel and go from there.

Ah thank you! That is perfect!

The solution I found was to run the 5ch ac3 through BeLight and convert it to a 5.1 wav.
