It seems that AMD Fast Decoder, AMD's version of the MFT, is installed by Cat9.10. Here are preliminary test results using DXVAChecker.
1. VC1 progressive: Very fast, but did not terminate properly.
2. VC1 interlaced: Did not appear on list, so perhaps not supported.
3. H264 Progressive and interlaced: Crashed.
Test results are somewhat disappointing, but could be due to DXVAChecker.
Did not get any response with Nvidia MFT in another post, hope the response here is better with ATI users.

It's installed as part ATI's Catalyst 9.10 drivers for ATI graphics cards. I believe there used as a decoder for GPU transcoding.

It has been pulled from Cat9.11.

I investigated a new WMV HD hardware acceleration in catalyst and what appears is:
They added dxva decoding for WMV HD aka WMV3 aka WMV9 aka VC-1 @ Main Profile in Cat 10.10 on windows 7 with hd 5xxx and 6xxx. The new old decoder is AMD DnD Decoder or (AMD Playback Decoder), it is based on MFT and is available for sure in 64 bit win7.
Catalyst 10.11 added WMV HD decoding on hd 4xxx cards.

Too bad there are no players short of WMP that use MF
NVIDIA has a MF codec as well, fwiw, its just that there are no players that support it.

1. Probably not:( That would be good replacement for Cyberlink decoder eh.
2. Not too (http://forum.ixbt.com/post.cgi?id=attach:10:57653:4414:1)

Okay. Dont know if 10.11 added anything, but definitely AMD decoder works very well. I manually installed decoder from Catalyst win7 32 package and installed on Ati HD 3xxx agp system. MFT decoder only supports vmw3 and wvc1 fourcc's. So no h264. If anybody point me to interlaced samples in wmv container i would check for it. Not in m2ts - theres no MFT splitter yet.
