Hello Everyone.
I was wondering if anyone could give me a few different names of software I could use to automatically remove commercials. Now this might sound weird, but I think its true. I have been using MCEbuddy, which is a nice program and I like the way it works. Now I normaly record with Windows Media Center, but I had a bunch of recordings from when I was using the PCTV software that came with my Pinnacle tv tuner. These were the first recording I used with MCEbuddy, and it pretty much worked flawless, I really couldnt belive it. But now with the recordings I have made using WMC, MCEbuddy really kind of does a terrible job. Umm, am I imagining this? I dont know any technical details about any of this, but is there a reason this should happen?
So anyways, this is why I want to try to find another progam to cut commercials from my recorded tv. I did some searching around on doom9, and all I really found was VideoReDo. I am currently away from my computer (on a trip for work) but I did download a trial of VideoReDo, so in a few days I will see if it works well. $50 seems quite steep to pay for a program to do this, there seems like there has to be something else that does this just as well with out costing so much.So besides MCEbuddy and VideoReDo, can anyone suggest a program to aid me? Any help is appreciated, thank you.
Edit: Oops, I realized something important I left out. My objective is to record a tv show using WMC, and then remove the commercials and encode it to a much smaller file, that is why I liked MCEbuddy so much. I just went on the VideoReDo website, and it appears that the software does not encode to an .avi format, just mpeg for dvds. Are there any other programs that will detect commercials and convert to an avo, or will I hae to do this in two steps?
