I've been wondering about this question for a long time. Who funds the development of x264? There is no way Dark Shikari is doing all this for x264 in his free time. I know Avail hired DS, but that's only for MBAFF.

I also want to say my thanks to the x264 developers, specifically Dark Shikari, for your amazing work for x264, and of course to the company that funds DS as well.

I know Avail hired DS, but that's only for MBAFF.They haven't hired anyone for MBAFF. There's still a $7500 bounty up for that.

The MBAFF in x264 is not adaptive. I assume the bounty is for the adaptive version.

And you don't take it?$7500 for MBAFF would be far below my usual contracting rates. And at a minimum, I would demand compensation for pain and suffering.
