How do you make CCE SP 2.7 work with SP3?

Well, suddenly my rebuilder/CCE stopped working! and first I thought it was just on the one desktop, so I then tried on my laptop-- what's the odds of two different computers suddenly not working..

The desktop is running Vista ( running Rebuider/CCE in XP mode)-
suddenly no longer working.

So I tried my "tried and true" laptop-- hmmm, not working either- the rebuilder works right up to the encoding phase but then --nothing.

So I tried using CCE standalone-- nothing happening.

Come to find out-- CCE sp2.7 doesn't work with XP service pack 3.

So how do I get a $1,900 program( outdated as it may be ) to work--???
I removed service pack 3 from my laptop- now it's working fine there- but now other programs won't run.
But, there's still the vista/ windows 7 / ??? future to wonder about!

I have used DVD-RB with CCE 2.7, no problems with me. Using XP Pro w/SP3, 32 bit.

hmm, did you have to re-install cce 2.7 after the service pack 3 update?

No I did not.
I just did a clean reinstall of another computer, and after XP Pro SP3, I installed CCE and it works on this system just fine too.
