I am trying to get true hd audio sound on KM Player, and I found the following settings to do this.
It seems to work well (video+audio) with the latest pre-build (with updated MPEG Splitter).

MPEG-TS Splitter -> Gabest MPEG Splitter
External AC3 Audio decoder -> ffdshow Audio decoder
ffdshow settings: Codecs -> enable AC3 and MLP. Mixer -> Output: enable 24 bit integer.
I am having a problem enabling AC3 and MLP on the ffdshow audio decoder. Any help would be greatly appreciated !!! Thanks a lot in advance !!!

I remember reading that you need to select libavcodec as AC3 decoder, not liba52, or the AC3-related formats (like TrueHD decoder) won't work.
But how can you tell it's seems to be working well if you can't enable MLP decoding on ffdshow?

I found this reply to the question of " no sound when playing true hd audio " on the KM Player web site:

MPEG-TS Splitter -> Gabest MPEG Splitter
External AC3 Audio decoder -> ffdshow Audio decoder
ffdshow settings: Codecs -> enable AC3 and MLP. Mixer -> Output: enable 24 bit integer.

I registered on the KM Player web site so I could find out, but 2 days later and I still have not received the link to complete activation, so I can't even ask.

I can usually follow directions well on new things, but this is a real annoyance.
Thanks for your reply though.

Disable AC3Filter for Ac3 if you have it, enable AC3 and TrueHD decoding in ffdshow, go to KMPlayer, then Preferences -> Filter Control -> Internal Audio Decoder -> General, and disable ALL filters, then Internal Audio Decoder -> Output, select PCM Output (Default) and set it to 24 Bits.
Once you've disable all internal audio filters, the player should default to ffdshow.
That should do the trick.

That is where I have a problem. When I pull up the ffdshow codec page, the AC3 has a choice between liba52 and libavcodec, EAC3 achoice of libavcodec or disable, TrueHD the same and MLP the same...either libavcodec or disable. They also note that they will not work unless AC3 decoding is enabled. I need to know how to enable the AC3 and TrueHD in ffdshow.
I really appreciate your help here. I don't usually have problems figuring out software, but I am knew to all this audio and video encoding stuff. Once I get it, it will be a lot of fun. Thanks again.

Set them all to libavcodec.

Just finished doing all that. Disabled AC3 filter for AC3. Disabled all filters as you said and set out put to 24 bits. I set all codecs to libavcodec as you suggested. The player plays all movies I have except The Matrix with TrueHD audio. The type of sound is not displayed, and there is no sound...only the picture. Anyway I want to thank you for all your help.

What's the extension of your file? .m2ts, .ts or .mkv? If it's m2ts or ts make sure you didn't disable Gabest MPEG Splitter. Or download the filters package from the MPC-HC soundforge site and try with the MPC MPEG2 Splitter (it's Gabest's too but it might work if the internal filter on KMPlayer is give you problems)
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mpc-hc/files/Stand%20alone%20Filters%20-%20Win32/Filters%20v1.2.908.0%20_%2032%20bits/mpchc_x86_v1.2.908.0_MpegSplitter.zip/download
Then, in the splitter config page select this filter and try the movie again.

I have the same problem ... using windows media player 11 for testing, the movie that includes sound TrueHD 5.1 can not play. FFDShow is configured AC3, E-AC3 and TrueHD in libavcodec.
What is the problem?

Sorry for my english.

@towerpc
Try with MPC Homecinema, its splitters can handle TrueHD audio inside M2TS/TS container.
