Just wondering if DVD Rebuilder will be updated any longer. Seems like since Blue Ray came on the scene Rebuilder has been forgotten. I hope not. I understand it still does a great job, however any software can be improved upon.Thanks.

Audio encoding to AC3 for sources with DTS/LPCM audio will be usefull.

I don't think I've ever seen a DVD that had DTS that didn't also have an AC3 track...

Audio encoding to AC3 for sources with DTS/LPCM audio will be usefull.Unfortunately I'd have to do a lot of redesigning to do that -- and I'm not sure the benefit would be worth the work involved.

automatically minimizing encoder windows would be a great thing to implent, but that's already on the to-do list AFAIK.
anyway, that would definatly improve the workflow while encoding a lot.

We gathered some issues/requests in this thread a while ago: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=147965. It would be nice to hear whether any of those are actually something that could be fixed or implemented.

I guess it also depends on donations and if any $ is being made...

Isn't having an AC3 track in fact mandatory according to the DVD specifications? It is on NTSC discs. On PAL you have to have one of either MPEG audio or AC3. But other than homemade (recorder) discs, I don't think I've ever seen one without AC3.

It is on NTSC discs.
Really? I just returned from a vacation in California, and there I found "Prince - The Hits Collection" (used, for just a few bucks) at StreetLight records. The DVD is NTSC and it only has one LPCM audio track, nothing else. This is not compliant?
Cheers

I had the same humble request.
See http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1320532#post1320532
My friends and I own several music DVDs (PAL) with LPCM and DTS only.
What would be a good approach/workaround to the same end which would _not_ need much or any DVDRB Pro redesign?

maybe add support for the new version of HC

maybe add support for the new version of HC It doesn't support it now? I'm pretty sure I'm using 0.23 with DVD Rebuilder.

I think nevragain is referring to HC 0.24 beta versions. HC 0.24 has been in beta for almost a year, and the latest beta is certainly at a state which Microsoft would call version 5.0. :p
Hank really is a perfectionist, so there is no telling when version 0.24 will go stable. I have been using the latest beta versions extensively, they are absolutely stable, and the improvements compared to version 0.23 are definitely worth considering supporting this beta version in DVB-RB.
There is a workaround though to use HC beta 0.24 within DVB-RB supporting all the new HC features. Just choose QuEnc as your encoder and specify HCenc.exe instead of QuEnc.exe as the executable. All HC settings can now be made through the HC.ini file because DVD-RB will not interfere with the INI file now.

What I meant was support for the new features in version 0.23 or maybe including it in the installer. I'm unsure about the beta.
