View Full Version : 5 VOB files. 1 goes out of sync

I have a DVD folder with 5 VOB files in it as well as the IFO and BUP files. My problem is the 5th vob in the set goes out of sync by 350ms. Is there a way to correct this without losing quality via reencode?

I am at a loss on how to fix this. any help is appreciated.

Remux the vob file and add a delay to the audio.

can you suggest a program i can do that with. I have not messed with VOB files. I usually do VOB2MPG on my vob files and mess with the MPG but I dont want to do this because its only the 1 VOB file that is messed up.

Avidemux can do this.

1) Does your original, commercial DVD exhibit the same problem when played on your PC?

2) What is the Title and Region number of your original DVD?

3) What software and procedures did you use to rip it to your hard drive?

4) Have you tried simply re-ripping your original DVD?

Then apply it using delaycut.

Why do in two steps what you can do in one? Avidemux can do it in about one drag and five clicks.

One doesn't have to. I was just pointing out an alternative is all. But if Avidemux can do it much faster, then that would be the way to go. :)

I will try avidemux. It is not a commercial DVD. It is a homemade cam dvd and what happened was this. I had a hard drive crash and had to use a program to recover the files. The program recovered everything and seemed ok except i know the last VOB file is out of sync. So I am trying to fix just that VOB.

The way I tested was to drag each VOB into VLC and watch them individually. Then when I got the broken one, i just add delay with VLC and thats how I got 350ms to fix it.

It is a homemade cam dvdThen you have a full DVD "package" of .IFOs, .BUPs, and .VOBs, right?

Have you tried playing the entire "package" AS A DVD (either with a software DVD player or, after burning, on a standalone DVD player), to determine if there's actually a delay?

I do have all the IFO and BUP. I found some more files off of the hard drive that crashed and they were avchd ts files and they had the audio out of sync. Im sure its just something to do with the hard drive crash. I had to use recovery software to even get the stuff back.
