View Full Version : audio out of sync with vdub + h.264

hi
i'm trying to compress a Lagarith Lossless avi file into h.264 video file, but the problem is that audio is not in sync with the video - it starts earlier than the video. i checked some options and there wasn't any delays set. only some interlace thing with a value of 3000, which i removed without any affect on the sync or anything else..
i'm using one pass - avg bitrate video and lame mp3 160kbps cbr audio...
xvid 2pass comes out fine, but that has not got the good quality picture...
thanks :5

Don't use VFW with x264.

I second the Inspector. Use a program with proper support for X264, such as MeGUI, Ripbot, or HDConvertToX, and if you still have problems with sync, then come back and talk to us.

sweet, thanks
ripbot looks very useful, but is it trial? it encodes only 1:47 of video...
MEGUi needs some .avs files...

argh... is the gordian gnot the only way to compress the large files then??
hdconvertox does something, but does not provide an output file.... ripbot encodes only 1:47 minutes and MeGui is just weird...
has there been any workflows posted here somewhere?

Any of the MPEG-4 Encoder GUIs work, provided that you use them correctly. At what point are you getting hung up?

it does not hang or anything(ripbot). it says all jobs finished down at the bottom, but when i open the file (mp4 for example), it's only 1:47 long.
some files froze the picture after 1:47, but the audio kept on playing. other files just ended @1:47 and now it doesn't make 2-pass mkv files at all :|

Post your logfile in a codebox in this thread.

it's weird that it didn't write any log for the last mkv file (cq 20 mkv)
this is for cq 22 avchd i think:
it seems that it only encodes 3275 frames of any video... :|

ahh.. what's the problem then?
still only 1:47..
uninstalled everything and then installed only couple of separate codecs..
audio has a little jibberish too, once in a while..
mäger

... it works fine with AppleTV option...
and v.1.13.3 doesn't work at all...

sweet stuff!
this exe fixed the problem! :

audio jibberish is probably caused by false encoding or smth..
