I use Flaskmpeg, is there anyway to edit the contrast or brightness?

Why can't you just right-click->properties and ajust the brightness of the movie via the codec settings in WMP (sorry I don't use Flask but this is another way of doing what you want to do)??

I use The Playa

Forget the Playa.
In my opinion it's one of the worst players that has been released. Use ordinary WMP 6.4.
You can always use for encoding VDub (since you're using divx4.xx) and add some filters (for example levels).
And this can also be related with your graphic card. I had the same problem with GF2 Pro. Just installed new drivers and everything was fine.

Well I use Xp, so I'm pretty much stuck with WMP 7.1,
Plus I think you should give the The Playa another try.

Its got some nice features like play divx on the desktop.

Plus do you know where I can find some VDub guides?

Instead of the Playa, try PowerDivx.
You're not limited to WMP 7.x or 8.x.
WMP 6.4 is there - just look for it. It's in the Program Files \ Mulimedia Player (or something like this - I have localized version of WinXP, so my folder name is different) and look for a mplayer2.exe
That's WMP 6.4
About guides.
It's all here...
Look for a VirtualDub guide.

 I think that the best player is Bsplayer.
Contrast isn't a problem with it and subtitles are very easy to use.
Besides it uses less cpu than wmp and allows many audio streams ( :D like two ac3 :D ).
