Hi, i'm trying to re-encode the audio of a dvd i ripped. The audio is in AC3 and is and is 6 channels at 640 Kbps.

Whenever i re-encode the audio, with megui, it always encode a 2CH audio. I can never seen to encode and get the 6CH that i originally started off with.

Here's my MeGUI settings for the audio. I was wondering if i'm doing something wrong? and why i can't get the 6CH audio on the encoded file and always end up with 2.

Are you using the ac3 as input directly? through directshow?

Make sure you don't have a stereo downmix in the filter chain e.g. though ffdshow audio mixer

Or use another input filter like ffaudiosource, or nicac3source, which feeds all 6 channels

could you please explain how to do what your saying. here's my audio LOG

i'm encoding from the AC3 audio directly.

EDIT : It turns out there was something wrong when ripping the dvd. For some reason, the ac3 file was currupt. I tried encoding with another app and it didnt encode at all. I re-ripped the DVD and it encodes fine now.
