I know that this is not a webdevelopers discussion forum, but I have a dvd which my client wants on their website. My question is, how should I shrink the 257mb file into something web usable?

Convert the video to H.264, combine it with AAC audio if needed, put all that into a MP4 container and finally embed it in your website using Flash Player!
