On the last page of the "xvid_encraw - Patched with AviSynth input support" thread, there are several posts mentioning how the build in that thread crashes when QPEL is enabled. The copy of xvid_encraw that I am using is Xvid 1.2.2-VAQ from the xvidvideo.ru site. However, it does not support MKV output, and I notice that the 64-bit build of xvid_encraw doesn't seem to work (always exits after a few frames). Is there a preferred build of xvid_encraw somewhere that is known to work well?

QPel crashing is more related to the XviD library itself. I believe the best version of xvid_encraw is in:

I think you can drop in an xvidcore.dll in the same directory as xvid_encraw.exe. That way you can play around with different versions of xvidcore.dll.
