Very strange situation happened recently. My laptop touchpad (Synaptics) quit working. As I searched the web for answers (uninstalling, reinstalling, fn+f7, disabling, enabling the mouse, and taking out the battery and ac for awhile) I noticed that the mouse moves while holding down a key.
SO, I can move the mouse using the touchpad (and it won't move on the screen) but then I touch a key and it moves to the spot I would have moved it to as though it were still working.
Then I decided to hold the key down. Low and behold the touchpad works when I hold down a key (any key but I've been using the arrow keys as there are less problems with using the arrows than say... the control key for obvious reasons).
Anyone have any ideas or remedies for fixing this seemingly retarded situation? I've already tried all of the above mentioned "fixes".
