Looking for an all purpose media software organizer...

Similar to [spam removed] but possibly freeware or at least something a little more versatile (I would be willing to pay a nominal fee for a software if it would do everything I need it to do).

I am looking for something that should be able to organize a media library (movies/music) similarly to iTunes, but without the restriction of using an internal media player. It would basically categorize your library using codec data, metadata and/or data available from external sources freely (imdb, for instance) and able to store this information locally (say in a database) for quick access.

Is something like this available freeware? After some quick searching, I find a lot of software out there that does 'some' of what I need, but not 'most' or 'all'... Anyone have any insight?

xbmc can only by the name of your file or folder get the cover every information about the item and the complete description based on the settings you want. And then you can make a search by actors from tvshow you scanner before or movie. Running on linux windows mac and xbox.
