View Full Version : Timebar / Movie duration problem (Bluray)

Hey there,

I'm working on a bluray, trying to make it fit on BD-R. I've encoded the movie, and placed it back into the original bluray, also replaced the clipinfo. I've done this quite some time before, and usually goes quite well.

Though this time I have a weird issue. The movie duration is 1:58:00. After encode it still has the same duration; I'm also sure that the framerate is set alright. Using TsMuxer to re-add the subtitles and audios etc.. After that, the duration is still 1:58:00. But when I put it back in the original bluray, and replace clipinfo, the issue occurs. When I put in the bluray and watch it entirely it works perfect. But when I start skipping the movie using the timebar in PowerDVD for example, it seems like the last about 18 minutes are missing, as if they are cut from the movie. The end time is still 1:58:00, but it just seems as if the movie takes longer, like a bad framerate, but this is just not the case, it seems like some sort of reference problem. But like I said, when I play the movie without any skipping it works perfectly. But when I do skip to any part of the movie, the last part of the movie seems to be cut off. As if somehow the player interprets the movie badly.

Is there anyone who has a clue what's wrong here

Maybe in order to clarify the problem even more: let's say I start the movie and play like 20 minutes of the movie, without doing anything. Then I click with my mouse on about 20 minutes on the timebar, and I see a different part of the movie, a part which plays erlier in the movie. (and when I skip to the end of the movie, it's also not the last end but also ealier part of the movie).

Hi!

Try copying the original Chapter times and entering them via the "tsMuxeR" "BluRay" tab ("Custom Chapters List")...

That I always do, but just for the sake of the problem I'll check them one more time.

Just checked it, and they are 100% identical, so that's not it.

Argh, I just experienced the same issue with another Bluray! Awkward :/ Never had it before and now two times in a row.. This time I just demuxed some audio streams and then put it back in the original bluray structure.. I'd almost say it's a software *PowerDVD* thing, but the originals do playback O.K. so that can't be it.. help:stupid::stupid:

If it could be just this easy, more people would backup their Blu-Rays this way. It can't be done this way. Why not use BD-Rebuilder, it will take care of all this for you. :)

It's a nice tool but also limits controls a lot. Plus in case I just want to demux some audio's, I can't use BD Rebuilder.

Well you can't just like that replace Blu-Ray structure. Maybe you have sucess with several titles but that is just luck. There is many thing which can changed and one parameter can broke whole thing. Thats why tools like BD-Rebulder dont have some options because is not that easy to do some things

Still I'ld like to try and from what I've done so far it's going quite well.. I've found that tsmuxer does something strangely with the chapters after you create the bluray in TsMuxer. The TIME_IN is set to 10:00 and all chapters move up.. found this using readmpls.

Mmm apparently it's fixed when I take the TsMuxer created .mpls file and change the reference to .m2ts.. It's a good solution for now, but I know that sometimes there is also some menu call in the original .mpls and you'ld lose that if you take the TsMuxer .mpls..
