MPC Video Decoder has no Access Unit parser for VC-1 and H.264, thus, leaving this work up to the splitter, only working with a handful of 'em (MPC and Haali). Put in other words.. the decoder expects the splitter to deliver one complete Access Unit per media sample.

what happened to mpeg-1 video support?
the latest gabest original mpeg-2 decoder decodes mpeg-1 stream without any problem.

It has no advantages over the standard MPEG-1 decoder of Windows.

well of course, but that ancient decoder http://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/112.gif

It's still there as you can see in the Internal Filters list of MPC-HC.

It's even worse IMHO, talking about IQ. I've disabled it and I prefer to use the MS MPEG-1 decoder.

It's working for me but I don't like the IQ.
Post a sample of a file which can't be decoded with MPC-HC MPEG1 decoder.

bug report (1.3.1249.0)
mpc-hc crashes all my SVQ1 (Sorenson Video 1) MOV.

Quicktime Player NOT INSTALLED (using mpc-hc built-in decoder)
It'll try to play it, shows some garbling, then eventually crashes.

Additional info:
Athlon XP 3000+ (32-bit, MMX, SSE, Enhanced 3DNow!)
Windows XP Professional SP3 (Windows 2000 SP4 too)
ATI FireGL X1 128 MB (Radeon 9700-based)
2 GB RAM

P.S: It plays fine if QuickTime is installed, since obviously it switches to QuickTime's decoder.

Well, nothing will be fixed until someone fixes it. Something gets fixed if there is some dev that can fix it and he wants to spend his time on fixing this.

Additionally, only bugs reported on the tracker, through the troubleshooting guide will be fixed by someone(either existing dev or someone externally)

start here:
