does anyone know if there are DTS-MA decoders out there yet? I know that Arcsoft TMT has its decoder in this program but I would like to have a separate DTS-MA decoder so I can register this in MPC-HC.

Hi THX-Ultra II,
I've played around with the TMT HD audio (audiohd.ax) decoder however i've found no way to make its individual settings stick. You may already know... it always reverts back to 2 channel audio when you close the settings page. Pain in the arse if you ask me! I'm guessing that the actually TMT player controls this from within the app.
I think PowerDVD's decoders cannot be used outside of PowerDVD.
Heard of Sonic's DTS decoder however never tried it so not sure if it can be used outside of the native app.
I've been trying to find info on if the ffmpeg project are working on dts-hd decoding however i can't seem to find any news. If they crack it i would imagine it will then be pulled across to ffdshow, etc.
I've also been keeping an eye on a beta build of ffdshow that Albain over at the ffdshow thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=120465) has been working on for Windows 7. It contains options to bitstream hd audio however it appears there are problems with the Windows audio renderer handling the hd codecs. Looks like it's maybe to early for Windows bitstreaming!!
I keep coming back to the wonderful flac codec! Using eac3to (together with the TMT2 v.120 DTS-HD decoder) you can convert TrueHD and DTS-HD to flac. There will be no downsampling to 16bit as long you use the the TMT2 v.120 audiohd.ax decoder. The one thing with this (and i really hate it!!!) is that TrueHD and DTS-HD are not displayed on my av receiver!!
