View Full Version : Is AC-3 Filter still a good DS filter for 5.1? What about for DTS?

I have a Creative Labs X-Fi sound card. I have a 5.1 analog speaker setup.

I would like to know what's a good audio filter for AC3 and DTS. I thought would use the one that came with Cyberlink PowerDVD 8; however, the best I can get out of it is fake surround.

Whats a good audio filter period... professional or free?

If it's AC-3 filter (even for DTS), what settings are optimal for Creative X-FI 5.1 analog out?

Thanks for any comments or suggestions in advance. I appreciate it!

The latest version of ac3filter found here:

I recommend the full version :)

Plenty of options that create a nice sound effect, and also an equaliser which goes down to 30hz which is much better than many software/driver equalisers out there.
