I'm currently testing out some of my first burned AVCHD discs.
I'm using a borrowed Sony BDP-S350. I've found that when the resolution isn't exactly 720 / 1080 standards it does not properly output resulting in video glitching or a split screen. Example: Underworld - Rise of the Lycans is 1920x800 instead of 1920x1080. I understand you can use some video encoding software to add the bars above and below until the proper resolution is reached. I've noticed with resolutions such as these that tsmuxer does add a 6k 01900.m2ts file in the appropriate resolution but it doesn't seem to have made a difference with this player. what I'd like to know is do other players have this issue or is it something specific to this player? if it's just this player I just won't buy one for myself =) but if it's an issue with a lot / most of them I'll need to find different software and learn to add the bars. anyone know??
