Hello there.

I work for a fansub group and we've been releasing our HDs in x264 and we aren't sure what audio codec to use. I have no idea what is compatible with PS3 but if possible can I encode so that it would work on one? What codecs should I use?

Thanks in advance, and I'm sorry if this is the wrong section m(_ _)m

Seems it depends on container if you use x264 as video codec:

For *.mp4 you should use stereo LC-AAC (AC3 can be muxed into MP4 too, but imho it's only a hack).
when using m2ts as container, you can use AC3, DTS, MP2, LDPCM.

So question is, what medium do you want to use? DVD-AVCHD oder simple store video onto HDD?!

AC3 is officially part of the specs and is not a hack

Okay, I'm not breaking any laws. I want to know what it is personally.
